The AT&T non-profit hispanic organization HACEMOS and the UH AT&T LAB and with the sponsorship of the Department of Commerce's Economic Development Administration (EDA), have agreed to develop technical certification workshops this Spring 2010 for hispanic high school students from low-income communities in the Greater Houston Area.
Among the technical workshops to be be offered next Spring 2010 are Cisco Systems CCNA certification, Juniper Networks JNCIA Certification, and EMC Information Management and Storage Certification, and Voice over IP courses. These specially designed courses are intended to bridge the gap and offer high school students who are about to graduate an opportunity to join the information technology job market and/or to continue their studies in an institution of higher learning of their choice in the area of computer networking.
Hacemos is a non-profit, non-partisan organization open to active and retired employees of the AT&T. family of companies. The organization's main purpose is to foster an environment where hispanics support and encourage each other to succeed professionally, personally, and in the community.
