At first, we had a very hard time trying to configure Gizmo5 to connect to our PBX box. This was due to the coding that was different in the Asterisk graphical user interface (GUI) and the actual Asterisk command line, so we decided to remove GUI from the whole project. We finally got our PBX box to make and receive phone call from Gizmo5 trunks. After that, we were able configure the Asterisk PBX box to be able to forward phone calls to Sergio’s cell phone.
The team accomplished the provided tasks that were specified by the lab instructor. Upon completing our project, the team was not satisfied with it. The members wanted to make their PBX box as a whole compete telephony system so the team decided to do some more coding to Asterisk to include applications such as weather report , text to speech , wake up calls , reminder through web interface and voice mail etc.. . The team was not able to get the system to render video at first, but they figured out the problem that our server did not have video card in it so it could not render the video. The final end result the team has completed is a low cost telephone system.
