Project Proposal

The College of Technology is currently providing students with telecommunications lab courses that are used for teaching students basic routing procedures. Currently the lab uses Cisco routers. The overall goal of these labs is to prepare students for work related networking problems and for the certification tests.

The routing team’s goal is to setup a multi-user GNS3 server setup that can create routing topologies at the same time. The simulation IOS are based on the Cisco models 2600 & 7200 which are also provided by the workshop. The project is to provide an additional means to accomplish labs without physically being in the college. The team will provide a series of labs using both simulation software GNS 3 and packet tracer to help the students login remotely. By the end of the semester we hope to provide a simulated network connected to the outside via Frame Relay for graduates and undergraduates classes following the team routing’s documentation.
